Since its inception in 1978, the reason for MARC’s existence has not changed, “collaborating to enable people with disabilities and disadvantages to achieve outcomes of choice that enhance their quality of life.” Today, MARC’s leaders remain tenacious in the pursuit of ensuring “best personal choices and outcomes” for all people with disabilities or disadvantages.

Four Decades of Service

For more than four decades, there are individuals, MARC members and associates, that stand out as Legends among leaders; living and breathing role models of “principled driven tenacity.” Demonstrating that fighting decade after decade that battles fought for what is fair, just, and honorable, especially those against overwhelming odds, are the essence of freedom!

Recognizing Legendary Service

To recognize and honor todays and future icons of legendary service to humanity through faithfully dedicating their lives to safeguard the freedoms and dignity of all people with disabilities and disadvantages, MARC, by consent of its Board of Directors, shall choose an individual or individuals to be bestowed and the title of a “MARC Legend.”

The title of “MARC Legend” is awarded only to those unique individuals that have demonstrated, through tenacious advocacy, life altering advancements to quality-of-life opportunities for services, supports, and employment options for all people with disabilities, especially those with the most significant disabilities.

The title of MARC Legend shall be highly esteemed by the MARC members and peers and shall be awarded only when true MARC Legends have earned the honor.
